LDS02 is a LoRaWAN door sensor that detects whether a door or window is open or closed and sends this information to your IoT server over a LoRaWAN network. In the cloud you can see the current door status, how long it has been open and how many times it has been opened.
The device is powered by two standard AAA (LR03) batteries and is designed for long-term use. Depending on the configuration, one set of batteries can provide roughly 16,000 to 70,000 uplink messages before replacement is needed.
LDS02 sends a periodic keep-alive message once per day and, by default, an additional uplink at every door open/close event. It counts how many times the door has been opened and calculates the duration of the last opening, so you always have a clear history of use.
To save battery, you can disable event-based uplinks and send only periodic summaries. The sensor also supports a configurable open-duration alarm: if the door stays open longer than the configured time, LDS02 sends an alarm message to your application.
The compact housing of LDS02 allows simple installation on doors and windows using adhesive tape or screws, without any cabling. Thanks to the long battery life and wireless operation, LDS02 is suitable for both new installations and retrofits.
LDS02 supports multiple LoRaWAN frequency bands such as EU868, US915, AS923 and others, making it easy to integrate into existing LoRaWAN infrastructures in different regions.
Typical applications include home and building automation, access monitoring, security systems and facility management. The device can also be used to monitor cabinet doors, technical rooms or restricted areas.
In industrial and logistics scenarios, LDS02 can help monitor loading dock doors, warehouse gates or containers and provide precise information about opening times and frequency.
